The CLR (ceiling light rejecting) frame screen from celexon's HomeCinema series is a high contrast screen specially optimised for ultra-short throw (UST) projectors.

It combines the advantages of current displays with the size of a projection screen. The specially developed "retroreflective" projection screen fabric provides unprecedented contrast, black level, brightness and vivid colours under daylight or ambient light conditions. With these features, the dream finally comes true - the projection screen becomes a TV replacement

At the same time, Celexon's HomeCinema CLR-UST fabric achieves outstanding colour values and colour fidelity.

The viewing angle of 140° is extremely wide for this type of screen fabric and 0.4 gain achieves an impressive perceived brightness, black level and contrast due to the special bundling of the incident light and reflection in the direction of the viewer.

This makes Celexon's CLR-UST fabric one of the best ultra-short distance high contrast fabrics on the market and unique at this price point.

The extremely narrow frame, only 12mm wide, has a matte black finish all around and builds up only minimally over the surface of the screen. This eliminates any edge reflections and creates the impression of a 100" or 120" TV.

Ambient and stray light are known problems of projection systems, as colours fade and blacks appear weakened. Consequently, the choice of the best place for the screen in the room is severely limited. Screens that have a special coating to prevent this effect are abbreviated ALR for "Ambient Light Rejecting".

This surface texture ensures a deeper black level, higher in-picture contrast, better colour saturation and better picture brightness from the viewer position, regardless of whether ambient light is switched on or off or whether there is residual light (daylight) in the room.

The celexon HomeCinema CLR-ALR fabric is a special ALR fabric variant and does not reflect light from above back into the viewer's eye (unlike classic "Type D" (diffuse reflective) matt-white fabrics) and at the same time absorbs light coming from the side.

The projection light coming in from below is bundled & reflected centrally towards the viewer.

It is thus optimised exclusively and specifically for use with an ultra-short throw projector, achieving breath-taking projection results - even under residual light conditions.

If you are using an ultra-short throw projector, it is imperative that you use a projection surface that is flat and level to the maximum. Classical roll-up screens are usually not suitable for such a projection, as their screens hang freely in the room and may move slightly, or they may have minimal ripples in the screen fabric or at the edges, which is typical for roll-up screens.

A UST projection does not forgive any unevenness in the flatness, and distortions occur in the image due to the extremely wide projection angle - so that frame screens are the optimal type of screen for UST projectors thanks to the permanent fabric tension and thus perfect flatness.

The CLR HomeCinema UST frame screen fits perfectly into your existing room without standing out. Whether in a home cinema, conference or meeting room, this screen is a real eye-catcher and TV replacement, not only because of the special fabric or its high-quality finish, but also because of its slim design.

The fabric is stretched from behind onto the frame with the help of springs and is always perfectly flat. The frame is easy to assemble thanks to the simple plug-in system.

In the box you will find all mounting accessories as well as an easy-to-understand instruction manual.

About

How do you choose the right projector screen when there is so much choice? We are always available either on the phone by calling 01256882629 or by sending us a message by clicking here, and we can help you easily narrow down the options. Alternatively, here are a few simple pointers to help in your own research:

Screen Size

By far the most common reason for screens being sent back is for not realising just how big they are. For most screens (ones not recessed into the ceiling) there are 2 main measurements to make note of: 1) the viewing area which are the measurements stated in the names for each screen on our website; 2) the total width of the screen i.e the metal casing or the outer frame for a fixed frame screen. All of these measurements should be stated on the pages for each screen but if not then just give us a shout and we can easily find out for you.

Tensioned, or not tensioned?

Having a perfectly flat surface is always going to get the best out of any projector, but there are certain projectors which need a tensioned screen otherwise the image will be completely distorted. This applies to basically any short throw projector, because the light from the projector is being thrown out from such a tight angle that if the surface is not completely flat it will exaggerate any waves/ripples in the surface which would not necessarily be noticeable if projecting onto the screen from a longer distance. The biggest difficulty for this scenario is if you'd like a short throw projector but a mobile screen, because the only tensioned mobile screens are the large folding screens which are very good but obviously much higher price than a standard pull-up version, so the best solution to keep the cost down is to either go for a longer throw projector or to use a short throw projector but project onto a flat, matte white wall.

What is the best screen material?

99 times out of 100 the standard matte white surface will do a very good job, but if for example you'd like to place speakers or the projector behind the screen or are using the projector in a particularly bright room and need to salvage as much brightness as possible, there are other options. A lot of the screens by Screen International on our site have the material options listed on the page but again, if you get in touch with us we can quote this for you. Please note that these will be made-to-order so will take at least 2-3 weeks from date of order and sign-off, longer around the summer & Christmas factory shutdowns.

About Just Projectors

We provide advice on the phone listening to your requirements we are able to help you get the right one as we have trained staff . We have a network of installers to cover your area. On higher end models we can arrange a loan or demo. We think most people should buy HD resolution , they are so affordable now and you wouldn't buy a 5 year old laptop so why buy SVGA which is over 20 years old. Yes XGA & WXGA are ideal for simple presentations and education use but we have all been use to decent home TV's or high resolution phones or tablets so why put a huge image on the wall/screen which is inferior. There are some great brands out there like BenQ, ViewSonic, Epson, Sony and less known ones like EIKI or Vivitek. Yes you can buy the wrong one, this is why we still offer advice rather than just an add to cart website. We have a price promise, we see the models, we often put one against another and see which one is best. We only buy UK stock, which has higher warranty standards to ensure you get real value for money. We don't sell the cheap brands as the lumens aren't verified. Look at our name it tells you that we are committed to this product and we have a great reputation in the market place for price and customer service. We supply the UK but also in Ireland, we offer a 1-3 day service to Ireland.
