Just Projectors Review BenQ TH681+ Projector

Watch our YouTube video on this great projector

This projector sits right in the middle of busines or home cinema, its not true home cinema as it only has a data chip not a video chip but by fact we have seen it with our own eyes and sold over 1,000 to home users we can be pretty sure that you will be happy with that choice whether you have a need for it for business or cinema use.

Check out the reviews below - people have said what great value this projector is, in fact it is the same price as most XGA/WXGA projectors but twice as good. We are so confident you will love it that if you don't we will take it back**.

Only buy the current model TH681+ , the older model (TH681) is on the web but they have not got all the features.

If you want a 100" diagonal screen then you can place it as close as 2.5m

Although the cost of Full HD projectors is coming down dramatically, this is no cause for worry in terms of loss of quality and it is a great example of this. It packs a real punch with a high brightness of 3200 ANSI lumens that you could easily use it in a boardroom as much as in your living room. For the Home Cinema side of things the it boasts a great 3D viewing experience with new Triple Flash Technology which triples the frame rate making the 3D much smoother and more immersive, and all you need is a 3D Blu-Ray player and the glasses and away you go. Whether you are using it as a home cinema projector or business projector, the native Full HD resolution (1920x1080) of this projector means that you can watch any content in its true quality up to and including Blu-Ray quality! One strong point of all BenQ projectors is the Eco Friendliness of them and it has a very low 0.5W standby power, and by using it in Eco Mode you can get up to an incredible 6000 hours which is based on 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, 40 weeks a year (typical classroom usage) you will only be replacing the bulb once every 6 years. With the projector and lamp being able to last so long it is crucial that you don't lose the original quality, and with the TH681+ being a DLP projector there is no decay in quality like in LCD projectors, especially with the build quality from the number 1 global DLP brand. With both HDMI and VGA inputs it can be connected to any device, maybe with the use of an adapter for devices such as smartphones but makes it perfectly compatible and by future proofing yourself with the HDMI it will serve you well in the years to come.

Maybe it would be useful to read this home cinema guide as it will help you in the decision making process

  1. BenQ TH681+ Review: Great piece of kit and customer service

After a great conversation with Luke on the helpdesk, who was extremely helpful and knowledgable, I ended up getting this projector and an appropriate screen. Very easy to set up and get running, after it all arrived as expected. 5 star service all round.

  2. BenQ TH681+ Review: Great projector for home

Great advice over the phone by Megan and delivered the following day.

I would definititly recommend the projector it so clear picture and bright to watch films,TV, view pictures.

  3. BenQ TH681+ Review: So Much Better Than I Expected

Great service and advice from this company. I couldn't believe how good the picture quality was, and that's just on a cream painted wall! Great bit of kit, just wish I had got one before.

  4. BenQ TH681+ HD Projector Review

    Great projector and great picture!!!!

  5. BenQ TH681+ Review: Fantastic all round!

Just Projectors and the BenQ TH681+ and screen - all brilliant.

  6. BenQ TH681+ Review: Great service, great equipment

I was lucky to find this supplier! The web chat I had with Megan was just what I needed, some good advice and prepared to work out a deal. Even though I didn't order until about 3.30pm, it was here next morning before 10am; you can't get much better than that.

I ordered the BenQ 681+ because I wanted a projector that was flexible enough for home, office and classroom use, plus to be able to cope with the occasional "cinema in the garden" evenings when it is warm and dark enough. I also ordered a Screenlabs 178 x 178 tripod screen at the same time.

This is the first projector that I have owned and I have to say that I am absolutely delighted with its quality. Here's to be nicely made and very pleasing appearance. Also it is feature packed and when you get into the menus there are so many things that you can do with the projector adjustments made. Setting up the projector was not hard as everything seemed logical.

I connected my MacBook pro to the projector via the mini display port and an HDMI connection, I also used the USB to mini USB to enable the projector's remote control to operate the changing of the slides through the Keynote presentation that my wife was preparing. Images on the screen are very clear for the presentation and for films and TV programmes it gives the feeling of being at the cinema. Images may not be quite as clear for TV programmes as they are on the computer, but one does find it completely watchable and didn't cause me any problems at all.

I would willingly recommend this company and this particular projector to any of my friends considering buying one.

In fact I was so happy with the screen that we went and ordered another smaller one for the sake of portability. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, thank you.

  7. BenQ TH681+ Review: This projector is AWESOME!!!

I thought real life was in HD, til I watched it back through this projector.

This projector is so good, it should banned. Or at least regulated.

  8. BenQ TH681+ Review: th681+ fantastic projector great spec

I was looking for a replacement for an ageing 720p projector with nothing less than full HD in mind. After checking out the projectors available in my local AV specialists I came across the TH681 on demo and was immediately impressed. Back to the research and I started to look at the TH681+ with it's improved brightness and more importantly better contrast ratio. Mind made up and the order was placed; within 23 hours I was in possession of my new projector. Set up was a doddle and picture quality was brilliant. The high brightness meant that I didn't even have to close the blinds. The only downside was that it is a shorter throw than the old unit so will have to get a larger screen , every cloud has a silver lining. In use the projector has only been used for Blu Ray via HDMI and has delivered flawless picture quality. I look forward to viewing on a larger screen.

  9. BenQ TH681+ Review: Great Projector, fast delivery

This projector is great in meeting rooms and great value for money. Delivery was fast and customer service was great.

  10. BenQ TH681+ Review: Excellent, fair price for great product

Very helpful online chat service. Wasn't sure which products would suit my requirements and was pointed in the right direction. Projector gives realistic bright vibrant colours, with good contrast levels and lovely sharp picture quality, it is easy to use and I have not noticed any rainbow effect. Price seems very reasonable for the quality. Perfect for presentations and viewing, although I think it would need surround sound if using at home. All in all I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to others, only draw back is I bought this for work and now want one at home too!

  11. BenQ TH681+ Review: Great product, superb quality, fantastic price from a helpful company

I was looking for a replacement projector for the Benq 600 that we had installed in our Village Hall to enable people to show presentations, films etc. The requirement was a VGA input (many people still have older Laptops with VGA out only) as well as an HDMI input from the Panasonic HD Freeview+ and Blu ray player. We needed around 3000 Lumens and a reasonable throw to our glass bead screen we have installed. An added bonus would be 3D support and all for a maximum budget of £500.

As always, there are numerous projectors available and it is a minefield trying to accurately compare apples with apples!! Eventually I narrowed the selection down to the Benq 1080 (for its spec) and the Benq TH681+. The problem with the 1080 was it was only 2000 Lumens whilst the Benq TH681+ was 3,200. Several places sold the 1080, but the TH681+ was offered by fewer retailers.

I eventually decided to ask for advice and, having found the Benq TH681+ on, a company that specialises in just Projectors …. Rather than amps, TVs, computers, surround sounds systems, washing machines, dishwashers etc. I was in contact with Peter Tucker (no relation). He was extremely helpful and after reading all my requirements, suggested the Benq TH681+. It was good to be in contact with someone who was objective and only dealt in projectors. He was knowledgeable, helpful and answered all my queries. Eventually we ordered two – one for the Village Hall and one for home.

    SETTING UP the Benq TH681+
Setting-up was extremely easy, that was after reading through the menus upside down to find the one that flipped the picture. It was ceiling mounted. It automatically found the source and all I did was to zoom and focus and that was it. The Keystone is easy to use and the ‘Grid’ display on the menu is very useful to help set-it-up correctly and ensure you get the picture ‘square’. There are various colour background options for differing coloured walls, but as we are using a white glass bead screen, standard is fine.

With native 1080 HD, the picture is sharp and clear and a significant improvement over the previous projector. Any issues? Well it only has one HDMI input so if you wanted to feed two inputs, you would need to buy an HDMI switch, but they are cheap so it’s not really a big problem.

Easy, switch it on, switch the source on and it detects it – it’s as easy as that. The 3200 Lumens is a great boon and is much brighter than our old one, also the picture is significantly larger too. I haven’t tried 3D yet, but I expect that will be awesome.

I can’t really believe that you get so much for so little. This is a great quality projector with a bright HD picture, 3D, computer input and all for £450 via
Great product, superb quality, fantastic price from a helpful company with knowledgably staff.

  12. BenQ TH681+ Review: excellent projector

I spent a considerable amount of time researching the right projector for my needs which was to project Blu-ray films in large meeting rooms and therefore needed 1080 full HD resolution. I settled on this projector after both Just Projectors and BenQ recommended this model which provides a very bright image doing justice to my own Blu-ray productions whilst handling conventional Power Point presentations with ease. Operation is very straight forward although I would have preferred 2 HDMI inputs and a laser pointer on the remote . I therefore recommend this model and Just Projectors who were very helpful
