Product Info

Techconnect is a modular audio-visual faceplate family engineered especially for AV installers.

A “surround” which comes in two parts fits to a backbox (or “mudring” if your wall is hollow), then the modules fix in place to complete the installation. Techconnect is based around standard UK backbox sizes, and Vision also offers mounting hardware for other countries.

Improved Fit and Finish

Techconnect3 has more space behind the modules stash cables, and narrower and more even gaps between modules.

Matt White

Pure white with a chiselled profile, Techconnect3 also has 11 mm of flat space above and below the connectors for information or company branding stickers.

Stronger

Techconnect3 has shorter modules and extra ribbing to reduce module flex. On parts where flex is desirable to avoid shattering ABS plastic is used.

TC3-PK_surround_assembly_with_ampScrew-In Modules
The modules have a tab that hooks into the surround at the bottom, then a couple of turns of the pre-installed screws locks the modules into place

Passive and Active Modules

Vision offer pass-through modules for AV, IT, and pro-audio applications, and active modules which boost USB or extend HDMI, VGA, and USB signals over CAT6 cable.
You can even install a powerful audio amplifier module or a universal controller module right next to the connectivity modules. The faceplate is close at hand and securely fastened in place.

Plug-In Cables
Vision offer professional cables. VGA, Phono (RCA), and Minijack Techconnect cables have phoenix connectors on one end which plugs right into the rear of the modules. These phoenix connectors can easily be removed to pull cables.

EDID Support
Vision’s VGA cable included the SDA and SCL data lines to support EDID handshakes which allows the display device to communicate its supported display modes.

TC3-PK_rear_angleNo Soldering
Faceplates that require soldering take time build onsite, and – even for experts – create a possible point of failure in the system. Techconnect de-risks an installation.

3-Year Warranty
You can’t afford issues, and neither can we. Vision is totally focussed on offering reliable products.

About Cables & Installation Kits

Top 6 things to know when buying a projector cable:

    •  1) Does your Laptop or PC have an HDMI source: HDMI is the best cable to link to a projector as long as the projector is HD Ready. The HDMI cable will not only send data but will also deal with your audio at the same time. The problem with HDMI is that is is fairly limited on distance, so if you want to go more than 15m then it is worth taking the HDMI over the network such as Cat 5 cabling. Also it seems that the newer HD ready projectors with 1.4 HDMI can deal with the distance much better than the older 1.3 HDMI. Just Projectors sell both 1.3 HDMI and 1.4 HDMI cables, for the extra money it is definitely best to buy the 1.4.
    • 2) Matching the quality of the original image: If you are wanting to show a Full HD 1080p image then you will need to use an HDMI cable, however, if you do not have a Full HD projector then it will only show up to it's native resolution. If you are not showing a HD image then using either a VGA cable or Composite cable will be fine, although HDMI is a much better quality cable as it is digital as opposed to analogue.
    • 3) Are you showing Video, sending Audio or Networking: For showing a video source you will need either HDMI 1.3 or HDMI 1.4, VGA, Composite or S-Video Cable. As mentioned above, HDMI is by far the highest quality of all these connections and also carries Audio. If you want to send audio then you can also use a 3.5mm Stereo Jack Cable or an RCA Stereo Audio Cable. For Networking your projector, or sending signal over a long distance then you will need a Cat5E Network Cable.
    • 4) Network Cables for projectors: If your projector has a network (RJ45) connection then it does not always mean that you can send data to the projector through your network. Normally a projector will have this connection so that it can be managed i.e. turned on and off or check the lamp hours. If you do want to send data through the network but your projector does not have this capability then check out our Wireless Adapters.
    • 5) Cabling over a long distance: Most cables will be fine going up to around 15m, with HDMI being the weakest over this sort of distance. If you are going over 15m for any cabling then it will be best to take it over a network cable (Cat5 / Cat6). Extra kit is also needed to make this work, so if you are unsure whether the cables you need will handle the distance they need to travel then why not give our Expert Sales Team a call on 01256 882629.
    • 6) Setting up your own cabling: It is very easy to set up your own cabling, whether it be directly to your source or to a connection plate, simply measure up and choose the right length cables or see our ready-made Installation Kits
