It's great you have found the Sapphire Slow Retraction Manual 171x128cm Projector Screen 4:3 84 inch SWS180-ASR2 made by Sapphire and we can safely say after doing this for over 15 years that we know our projector screens. The important things are great value for money, a screen that is easy to use and something that will last. We are happy to add our number to the website so we can offer advice and ensure you to get the right screen the first time. Getting the right aspect ratio is the difference between buying the right or wrong screen, in this case it’s a is 04:03 is not widescreen but is suitable for the older resolution projectors XGA (1024 x 768 ) or SVGA (800 x 600 ) - if you want to be multi format then don't pull the screen so far down . This screen is fixed pull down screen, to stay in one place . A quick guide to the use of this projector is Office/Training Room - up to 35 people. Special features on this screen include, heavy duty spring roller to ensure that the screen fabric is kept taut with weighted bar to stop creasing. Simplistic pull-out system so you can lock screen at different heights, the pull handle is in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Channel fix brackets mean installing could not be easier. Slow retraction mechanism which will retract the fabric with ease.

This screen is 171x128 but what does that mean, there are other measurements to take into consideration. For instance the canister is large than the viewing area which is the part of the material which is white and the projected image is shown on. Having the wrong size means it might look too small for a large wall or too big and it won't fit, so please get your tape measure out and spend just 5 mins checking dimensions. If you are unsure if this screen is right for your audience size - just ask - we want to help you get the best screen for your money. There is a helpful pdf on the left hand side of the page for more info. Often people find it best to think of the screen as a diagonal size and this screen is 84 inches. We always want your business, we can offer better pricing than the normal web price, so just take 2 mins and save yourself some money! Please make sure that the screen is the right size, it will be bigger than the visible area which is the measurement we show, check out the pdf for more info.

About Wall/Ceiling
Manual Projection Screens are ceiling or wall mounted. The Manual Projector Screen is chosen when you want a permanent screen solution. They do give you the flexibility whether to keep the screen down showing all the time, or you can put the screen back into the canister, not unlike a roller blind. You will spend more money on a good quality manual projection screen if it has excellent mounting options, making it very easy to both wall and ceiling mount. Also the spring mechanism can vary dramatically between each manual screen and if you are planning to pull the screen up and down regularly then you will need a good quality one. Hence why we have chosen these manual projector screens, not just the cheapest that we can source but a manual projector screen that will last you years. Some Manual screens will have a black border which is preferable as it gives you a better viewing experience as your eyes tend to see what is inside the images better without the distraction of the wall. So how do you know which manual projector screen is best? Why not have a look below for some hints. You should match your shape (aspect ratio) of the image you are projecting to the shape of the screen. Aspect ratio is simply the ratio between the width of the picture and the height of the picture. The three most common aspect ratios are 1:1, 4:3 and 16:9. 1:1 is an old format based on overhead projectors but you will always have some white edges showing. 4:3 is traditionally a TV format although in recent times the trend is going more towards widescreen. Older PC's or laptops will display this format. This is the most popular shape if you need to use 16:9 occasionally as well as 4:3 as you can achieve the wider format by not pulling the screen down as far. 16:9 is commonly known as widescreen format, and is used for displaying film, modern PC's or laptops, DVD's or gaming. If you are unsure what aspect ratio you are running with your pc/laptop then follow these simple steps: - right click on your desktop choose "properties" - within the properties tab choose "settings" - on the bottom left of the settings tab is the resolution numbers. 800 x 600 / 1024 x 768 / 1152 x 864 = 4:3 format. 1280 x 720 / 1920 x 1080 / 1600 x 900 = 16:9 format. 1280 x 800 = 16:10 format. Manual Projector Screens are best suited for classrooms and training rooms or even in your home. They are a lower cost solution than an electric screen, and if your budget is tight it is far better to spend more money on the projector and then spend less getting a manual screen rather than an electric projector screen. If you have the following audience sizes we recommend the visible viewing areas to be as follows: 1-50 people - up to 1.8m; 51-150 people - up to 2.5m; 151-200 people - up to 3m. If your audience size is larger than 200 people then please call to discuss. All of our screens are quoted as visible viewing sizes so there will be an extra length of the canister and in most cases a black border. A few important things, all sizes are for the viewing not the canister so check out our page for the whole dimension size and measure. Get the right size for the room and audience. 2m is great for under 50 people. Short Throw projectors must use fixed flat surface screens. The bigger the drop down screen is, the more important it is tensioned to avoid creases. Matt white screens are standard and suit 98% of all needs.
