The CP-CX251n is obviously a very reliable machine with it being a Hitachi product. This is a Grade A projector. This model will be suitable for education and businesses. The LCD technology offers a stunningly clear image on the wall and at such a short distance too with it being a short throw projector. The short throw lens allows the CP CX251N to produce a 100" image from just 1.2m away. One of the downsides to LCD projectors is that you have the hassle of changing filters, but Hitachi have tackled that with the CP-CX251N giving it a Hybrid Filter so it lasts much longer than conventional filters, and with a lamp life of up to 10,000 hours in Eco mode, replacement lamps are few and far between too. The XGA (1024x768) resolution ensures a crisp image with sharp details to keep the class engaged. This projector comes with the modern HDMI connection to show your content in high definition and also has two VGA ports so you can connect to multiple devices at the same time without swapping cables around. About Education Projectors
Education is huge for manufacturers want some of the action so you will often see better warranties for education and excellent discounts when multi purchases are made.
Ultra Short Throw models for Education
We have in the last few years seen the introduction of the Ultra short throws which are ideally mounted over an interactive whiteboard or just a standard whiteboard. The huge benefit of these short throw education units are they do not let the teacher stand there all day with beam of the image into their eye. However with all things the manufacturers have now managed to make many of these short throws are interactive and this has started to see being able to use these projectors just a like projector and whiteboard combination but only at say half the price. Yes they are not as good as the projector and whiteboard but as I said the price is lower but also they are mobile, so maybe a room without the budget for an interactive whiteboard can have an interactive projector. Remember to get the right brightness for your room, short throws don't need so many lumens as they are closer.
Please don't buy SVGA projectors unless your budget is so restricted or its just a back up. Most manufacturers have dumped this low quality resolution because pcs etc that you link too have improved so much that SVGA is really not up to spec and not future proof. XGA resolution has also adapted to a new resolution known as WXGA which is a wide screen resolution. This has been as a result of general tendency for us to want to see more on our displays such as monitors and the software like windows 7 and above allowing us have have multiple windows side by side. Projectors therefore have gone from 1024 x 768 (4:3) pixels on the XGA to 1280 x 800 (16:10). So if you have interactive whiteboards that are 4:3 then go for XGA but the newer whiteboards are 16:10 so go for WXGA.
Lamp Free Models
Frankly this is a bit of a sales pitch to education who tend to run them for the longest time during the day and of course tend to have quote a "green policy" approach to the purchasing. If a school model has a lamp life of say 20,000 hours and cost £1000 and another one costs £400 with a lamp life of 5000 hours and the lamp replacement cost is £100. To get 20,000 hours on the cheaper unit the cost is £400+3 x £100 = £700, a saving of £300. Yes you do have to change the lamps , so there is a bit of hassle but buying a projector solely on lamp life isn't the best use of your money. Also the lamp free ones cant have a replacement, once the lamp life goes then it is thrown away..not that green. Also the DLP /LED Hybrid has had some reported problem in the blues fading, I'm not sure how much of that is such a small percentage but it is still fairly new concept and there are things to iron out.
We provide advice on the phone listening to your requirements we are able to help you get the right one as we have trained staff . We have a network of installers to cover your area. On higher end models we can arrange a loan or demo. We think most people should buy HD resolution , they are so affordable now and you wouldn't buy a 5 year old laptop so why buy SVGA which is over 20 years old. Yes XGA & WXGA are ideal for simple presentations and education use but we have all been use to decent home TV's or high resolution phones or tables so why put a huge image on the wall/screen which is inferior. There are some great brands out there BenQ, Infocus, Epson and less known ones like EIKI or Vivitek. Yes you can buy the wrong one, this is why we still offer advice rather than just an add to cart website. We have a price promise, we see the models, we often put one against another and see which one is best. We only buy UK stock, which has higher warranty standards to ensure you get real value for money. We don't sell the cheap brands as the lumens isn't verified. Look at our name it tells you that we are committed to this product and we have a great reputation in the market place for price and customer service. We supply the UK but also in Ireland, we offer a 1-3 day service to Ireland.
