Just Projectors review on the Hitachi CP-TW3506

The LCD technology will show realistic and true-to-life colours, which is great for showing photographs. This Hitachi projector has a good brightness and you will be able to present with the lights on and curtains open. You will be able to make large images in a small space with the ultra short throw lens. The native resolution is WXGA, which is widescreen. This is great as modern devices are widescreen and so you will be able to match the aspect ratio without any adjustments. Also, connect to the modern devices using HDMI to show your content in high definition. This has two HDMI ports and two VGA ports (to connect to older computers) so you can connect to two sources without swapping over cables. There are also two USB ports for PC-free presentations. A wireless dongle which is a cheap upgrade and saves time on plugging in your laptop. There is a built in 16W speaker for added audio.

If you cannot place your projector directly in the centre of the screen and it is slightly off set; the keystone correction will help you out so that you can still project in the middle of the screen. Another great tool if you are limited on space. We have a wide range of screens in stock, so check these out at the top of the page. This projector features Picture Modes, such as Blackboard and Whiteboard Mode so if you show your image on one of these, the CP-TW3506 will adjust the colours so you can still see clearly. There is also DICOM simulation for medical uses.

Overall, this is a great projector with many features making it future proof. Hitachi offers a 3-year warranty on this projector. Check out the PDF to the left for more information.

About Classroom
Good news when buying an education projector for your classroom, the projector manufacturers want your business so they offer you extra features such as extended warranties like de install/re install (please check with us as every model is different) lamp warranties. When I first started this business in 2001, I was selling 800 Lumens SVGA projectors to schools for over £1000, nowadays you can get a 2500 Lumen XGA for under £300, how times have changed, so now is the time not to buy SVGA any longer. Only 3 manufacturers still produce it and unless you can't afford the extra £50 to get almost a 50% better image then buy SVGA. The laptops and PC's you have purchased in the last 3 years have such high resolutions that SVGA struggles on anything bigger than a 4ft wide image. The single most important thing to do when buying a replacement classroom projector which is installed is know your throw ratio. This is easy to work out. Measure the distance back the current projector is from the wall/screen/iwb say its 300 cm, then measure the image size you want whether that is to fill a projector screen or just a desired size on the wall, let's say this is 180 cm . Divide 300/180 = 1.67 this is throw ratio. Not all projector will have this throw ratio, of course most of them have a range say 1.5-1.8 , that means 1.67 would be fine, but something like the Optoma's that have 1.95-2.15 will produce the grown size image. If you are unsure of your throw ratio or you just can't measure then call us with your old model, we can work this out for you. it is no point looking at any projector until this is sorted if its replacement projector. Once that is all sorted then buying a classroom projector really is now a choice of standard throw or short throw, this of course depends again if its a replacement but if its not and you have a new requirement then the trend for classroom projectors is short throw, there is no shadow , no glaring in the teachers eyes, installed on the wall rather than long cable runs, easier to change the lamps. Yes they are more expensive so maybe not a choice for everyone. Remember lumens is important when buying a education projector for your school as you don't really want to have to pull the blinds down, and there is no need to do this now with projectors having high lumens for very little money. Be brave go for 2700-3200 and see the change from your projector that was 1800 lumens struggling on a bright day. It is important to note that a short throw classroom projector with a lumens of even 2000 will be the same as a standard throw projector of 3800 lumens as the distance the image has to go is significantly shorter. Resolution for schools should be XGA or WXGA , go for the wider screen WXGA as they is how formats have changed from 4:3 to 16:10 in recent years but of course if you have a 4:3 interactive whiteboard you need to pair that with a 4:3 projector resolution such as XGA. So again if this is a new requirement for the classroom and you haven't yet brought the screen and projector then go for WXGA. There are some bright 1080p projectors out there at sub £1000 and if you have good budget and say its for a art or media classroom then it would be worth it as yet again you are improving the quality. Not really 1080p for day to day classroom use yet but maybe the next time you buy that will be the new standard. Projectors for schools need to be flexible in connectivity, the VGA connection is beginning to be phased out by PC manufacturers and the new standard is HDmi , so getting a HD ready projector with a Hdmi connection makes the most sense, again you add say £20 to the purchase cost but it will be future proof. The strong Education brands traditionally have been Epson & NEC offering the best warranties but other brands such as BenQ are well worth a look. Just Projectors have a large education client base with many councils using us as their preferred supplier, we are popular because we can help your school on the phone, listen to your specific needs, provide a complete installation service if you want and help you get the best classroom projector. of course our web prices are a guide, there is always improvements that can be made on 5+ deals, and the larger ones 15+ we can get special pricing from the manufacturer to support a discounted price. Give Just Projectors a chance to supply your classroom projector. A case study of replacement projectors for a classroom, we were asked by a London school based in Greenwich to find a replacement for their seven Sanyo XE32's which were no longer bright enough and had faded, the replacement lamp cost was significant and there had been some failures. All of these projectors were installed and the school didn't want to move the mounts, all the mounts were universal. The first thing to do was see the old spec as the resolution was OK, XGA but the brightness wasn't enough 2000 lumens, as prices had changed since the XE32 were purchased and lumens was more affordable it was decided to go for 3000 Lumens , XGA. The next thing was to deal with the slightly strange throw ratio of the Sanyo XE32 1.77-2.17 , if this wasn't taken into consideration then the image would either be too big for the screen or too small. To keep the price down the measurements were taken for each room as they had not been placed in a uniform position, it turned out that the throw ratios ranged from 1.9 -2.1 and this was great news as there was a more affordable choice. We supplied the IN114a for under £300 pre vat, we did give a discount for purchasing over 5 and we carried out the installation one week later. The new projectors are performing well in the classroom and the brightness issue had been resolved. We did consider whether to go to widescreen but it was felt with all the screens being 4:3 it was best to stick to XGA for the time being.

ABOUT JUST PROJECTORS

We provide advice on the phone listening to your requirements we are able to help you get the right one as we have trained staff . We have a network of installers to cover your area. On higher end models we can arrange a loan or demo. We think most people should buy HD resolution , they are so affordable now and you wouldn't buy a 5 year old laptop so why buy SVGA which is over 20 years old. Yes XGA & WXGA are ideal for simple presentations and education use but we have all been use to decent home TV's or high resolution phones or tables so why put a huge image on the wall/screen which is inferior. There are some great brands out there BenQ, Infocus, Epson and less known ones like EIKI or Vivitek. Yes you can buy the wrong one, this is why we still offer advice rather than just an add to cart website. We have a price promise, we see the models, we often put one against another and see which one is best. We only buy UK stock, which has higher warranty standards to ensure you get real value for money. We don't sell the cheap brands as the lumens isn't verified.  Look at our name it tells you that we are committed to this product and we have a great reputation in the market place for price and customer service.  We supply the UK but also in Ireland, we offer a 1-3 day service to Ireland.
